Pedal assisted bikes are not mopeds but actual bicycles that “add power” to your legs. When the sensor feels you are pressing on the pedals, it activates the motor. You can adjust the contribution of the engine in four ways. The more you get help, the more battery you consume. Assistance is usually put to the maximum when the climb is very steep. Engine assistance stops if you exceed 25 km / h.

We have bicycles with 500w and 625w battery. Indicatively, the autonomy of a charge can vary from 80 km to 120 km. Much depends, however, on the use of the assistance (if you always pedal with assistance at the maximum level, it consumes more), on the weight of the person pedaling and on the type of route. Bosch offers a useful e-bike calculator that will help you estimate the mileage for specific riding conditions.

The battery charges like any personal computer or mobile phone. Simply plug the charger into a wall socket and connect it to the battery. Our Trek e-bikes do not require you to remove the battery while charging, but it is always an available option. The lights on the side of the battery indicate when it is fully charged.

No, the Bosch Perfomance CX Line motors used by Trek are not regenerative.
