Cisternino Locorotondo

It starts from Cisternino defined as “a great architectural masterpiece without architects”; an architectural ensemble of narrow streets, open spaces and huts formed over the centuries and which retains its rural and ancient charm unaltered.

You walk along country lanes and paths that wind between dry stone walls and trulli; about halfway through the trip you get onto the dirt road of the Apulian Aqueduct: the largest hydraulic engineering work in Europe. On this path there is also the very unique spiritual oasis of the Bhole Baba Ashram, where a stop is a must. After a few kilometers you are at the feet of Locorotondo.
